Community Service
Fallbrook Rotarians At Work
Every year the 60 Rotary Clubs of San Diego County and Imperial Valley each select one or more community service projects to be performed by their Rotary Club members in their own community, or somewhere else in conjunction with other Clubs. Indeed, Rotary Districts all over the country, and the world also participate in "Rotarians At Work" day. The members of each Club perform these community service projects in their communities on the last Saturday of April. They perform Hundreds of projects each year.
The Rotary Club of Fallbrook previous Projects included:
- Painting at the Boys and Girls Club of North County, in Fallbrook;
- sealing the parking lot, and painting stairs and walls, at the Angel Shop on Main Street, Fallbrook;
- major refurbishing, including a handicap restroom, of the Fallbrook Food Pantry (this was a joint effort with the Bonsall Rotary Club):
- major clean-up and landscaping of the Beech Street Park on Mission Road, Fallbrook; extensive trash pick-up on Hwy 15 both north and south of the Mission Road interchange, Fallbrook;
- Paint hallway, two outside doors, and walls around the restroom in the Club Building at the Boys and Girls Club of North County, Fallbrook;
- dig and spray some weeds and cut back some bushes in the outside storage areas at the School Administration Offices, Fallbrook, along Mission Road and next door to the Boys and Girls Club;
- Paint exterior walls and trim on the Fallbrook Historical Society Pittenger House, Fallbrook, and trim some trees and shrubs on the two acre grounds;
- clear brush around the parking and picnic areas, and many hiking and riding trails of the new Santa Margarita County Park, Fallbrook.
