Steve Erie, PhD
San Diego's Water Future: Challenges and Opportunities.

Steven P. Erie is a Professor of Political Science at UCSD an Adjunct Professor of History, and Emeritus Director of the Urban Studies and Planning Program at UC San Diego.  He received his B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. from UCLA and taught at USC and SUNY Albany before joining the UCSD faculty. An authority on urban/regional politics, governance, public policy and planning, he won an outstanding teaching award from UCSD’s Earl Warren College; and received the 2004-05 UCSD Chancellor’s Associates Faculty Award for Excellence in Community Service. 

 

Steve has authored four books all of which received critical acclaim. He also authored Beyond ‘Chinatown’: The Metropolitan Water District, Growth, and the Environment in Southern California. He has been a consultant to numerous public agencies and business organizations and he also contributes op/ed articles to the Los Angeles Times, San Diego Union-Tribune, and other newspapers
